Passing the threshold of our solar system, the Phantom Cosmonaut continues on the path set so long ago and far away in the control rooms of Baikonur Cosmodrome. The elation felt from the historical, albeit clandestine, milestone does not last long.

A destructive and disabling encounter with an unknowable entity leaves the Cosmonaut in uncharted space, forced to perform unaided repairs to his capsule during a daring and unheard of EVA in interstellar space. Beyond the point of exhaustion and at the edge of madness, our solitary spaceman drifts seemingly endlessly, with mind and consciousness stretched to the point of breaking.

After feverish dreams of longing for Mother Russia and the distant blue pearl in a sea of black that is Earth, the Phantom Cosmonaut regains his mental acuity and sets sights on what lies before him. The legendary, and heretofore mythological planet X... Nibiru!
